The primary goal for Dr. Cunningham and his talented care team is to get every patient back to the activities they enjoy. The team is known for providing the highest standard of care and compassion to every patient.
Chad was born and raised in Weirton, West Virginia. He earned his undergraduate degree in 2014 from Wheeling Jesuit University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry. During his time at Wheeling Jesuit, he was a member of both the soccer and baseball teams. He then continued his education at West Liberty University where he received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2016. Following his graduation, Chad began working in Elkins, West Virginia where he could pursue his passion in orthopedics by working for Tygart Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine for the next 3 years. Currently, Chad is continuing his career at Vail-Summit Orthopedics with Dr. Richard Cunningham. Primarily he focuses on the knees, shoulders, and sports related injuries by seeing patients in Summit and Eagle counties. Additionally, he also helps cover the Frisco Orthopedic Urgent Care to treat patients with acute injuries. He enjoys using his free time to seek out adventures snowboarding, biking, hiking, and almost everything outdoors.
Victoria received her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training/Health Education from Kean University and her master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. As a graduate assistant, she worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for the USC cheerleading and equestrian teams. She also served as a physician extender to two of USC Sports Medicine’s orthopaedic surgeons. She completed The Steadman Clinic’s Athletic Training Fellowship program in 2013. Victoria is a board-certified orthopaedic technologist and licensed surgical assistant. She enjoys hiking, cycling, snowboarding and volunteering with the US Ski and Snowboard Association.
A native of Colorado, Erika grew up in the small town of Conifer. She attended The University of Northern Colorado, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. Following her graduation, she spent a year at Washington State University where she worked with the women’s soccer and women’s swimming teams. She then returned home to work for a year as a zipline guide while attending EMT school. She obtained her Master’s degree in Health and Human Physiology from The University of Iowa while serving as the head athletic trainer for Iowa Baseball. She was happy to return to small town mountain life when she was accepted to The Steadman Clinic residency for athletic trainers which she completed in 2018. She was thrilled to have the opportunity to stay in the Vail Valley working for Dr. Cunningham and spending as much time outside as she can get.
Megan Puppe joined Vail Summit Orthopaedics in January 2018. Megan has had many roles in the medical field over the past 12 years. Her diverse background allows her to provide a holistic approach to surgical scheduling and insurance verification. Megan moved here from North Dakota and enjoys all of the activities that living in a mountain town have to offer.
