In 2011 Dr. Cunningham participated in the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race, a 100 mile mountain bike race in Colorado that starts in the town of Leadville at 10,000 feet elevation. During the race, there is 14,000 feet of elevation gained during the the ride which goes over numerous mountain passes. Pro riders, such as Lance Armstrong, have participated in the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race in the past. The “Race Across the Sky” took place on August 31th 2011.
